Study site: Serbia and Montenegro

Site description: Ponds and lakes from the sea-level to high elevated mountains, but mainly mid-elevated karst sites of Montenegro

Study species: Paedomorphs (individuals retaining gills at the adult stage) and metamorphs (metamorphosed adult individuals) of Alpine newts Mesotriton alpestris, smooth newt Lissotriton vulgaris and Montenegrin crested newt Triturus macedonicus

Research topics: ecology of paedomorphosis, distribution range, landscape analysis, invasive species, sexual size and shape dimorphism.
